Karla is a beautiful village on the banks of Kokan. The people speak Konkani language and follow religion Islam. People from Karla are highly educated and most of them are doing jobs in various ciies in India or in abroad. Several people are also engaged in fishing activities or related business. This is a rare konkan vilaage which also has a fishing factory within the village called "Ratna Factory" or "Naik factory". The village has a Jama masjid and other mosques. Karla village is at sea coast and is protected from winds and sea currents naturally by the hills of Ratagiri. It also has a small Jetty.
