On a foggy Monday morning, Brisbane's newest bus tunnel opened for passenger use, forever changing the commute through the city.
Constructed to better connect North Quay and King George Square station by linking the Inner Northern and South East busways, the new tunnel offers a faster, more direct route through the city. Experience the dramatic drop below ground and the smooth, seamless journey as your bus bypasses the city streets.
This new tunnel will remove the need for all services to travel through the congested Queen Street bus station, helping to reduce delays and make your trip more efficient. While there are no bus stop or timetable changes, you might notice your bus taking a new, faster route via North Quay and the Adelaide Street tunnel.
If you travel on one of the routes below, you may notice your bus taking a different route from Monday, September 29:
Routes 330, 450, 453, 454, and 460 will continue to service Queen Street bus station and will now travel via the Adelaide Street tunnel.
Routes M1, M2, 222, 333, 444, and 61 will continue to service King George Square station via the Adelaide Street tunnel rather than via Queen Street bus station.
