Bird Photography in Bright Sun (Canon R6 & EF 500mm F/4 Lens)

I spend a day of seabird photography at RSPB Bempton Cliffs on the East Yorkshire coast, but with strong sun I have to work hard for good photos. In this video I'll share my tips on getting good exposure, particularly with white birds. I'll show you how I work, in the field, and how you can use the surroundings to help composition.

There's been recent sighting of Puffins here - but do I manage to photograph any Puffins at Bempton Cliffs today? This stretch of UK coast, near Bridlington, is a premier site for breeding seabirds. This bird photography vlog was filmed in May 2025.
