Beyond reflects Justin Gray’s background as a composer, performer, and producer rooted in both Indian classical and jazz traditions. Drawing on the melodic themes of the Indian raga Charukeshi, the piece develops its themes into a contemporary form with jazz-infused harmony and orchestral textures.

The arrangement blends instruments from both traditions—sarangi, sarode, vocals, tabla, woodwinds, string quartet, brass quartet, guitar, keyboards, and rhythm section—crafted as a three-dimensional orchestration designed to create a cinematic immersive audio experience where the instruments intentionally surround the listener.
