Sakata City Tosaka Elementary School – Cultural Exchange Class
We visited Tosaka Elementary School in Sakata to share stories about the maiko tradition and perform a dance for the students.
The sixth graders watched with sparkling eyes, and we truly hope they were able to gain a deeper understanding of the role of Sakata Maiko in preserving the cultural heritage of this historic port town.

酒田市内の小学校に行って、お話と踊りの披露をさせていただきました。
目をキラキラさせて見てくれた６年生のみんな。
湊町・酒田の歴史の中で、その文化を伝承してきた酒田舞娘という存在を少しでも理解してもらえていれば幸いです。
