Haworth Old School Room is steeped in history, The school was built by Patrick Bronte in 1832. Patrick Bronte, who was the father of the famous Bronte Family, helped to massively improve local people's education and living conditions during the 19th century in Haworth. Patrick knew the importance of education and raised funds to establish the Old School room so that the poor and disadvantaged children and adults could learn basic skills like literacy and numeracy Patrick Bronte was the father of the famous literacy novelist sisters. Charlotte, Anne, Emily and Branwell all taught at the School The Bronte family transformed Haworth from an quiet industrial village into a world-famous literacy landmark.
