Come with me as I explore Southall, London — often called Little India. From grabbing a £1 spice chai, trying samosa chaat for just £3, indulging in Ambala Bakery’s gulab jamun and ludo, to browsing shops selling Moroccan-style thobes, every corner of Southall is full of life and culture.
Along the way, I witnessed the diversity of this area, even seeing a woman asking directions to the Kali Mata Mandir. To end my journey, I stepped inside the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, the largest Sikh temple outside India — removing my shoes, tying the traditional head cloth, and visiting the Langar (community kitchen) where free meals are served to everyone.
This is Southall in its truest form: food, faith, and community.
