I Explored the Busy City of Athens, Greece . . .

Athens is a city full of history, culture, and unexpected adventures. In this travel vlog, we dive deep into the heart of Greece, exploring its vibrant streets, ancient landmarks, and unforgettable experiences.

Our journey began with a train ride to the north side of Athens, where we visited the Mall of Athens, originally built for the 2004 Olympic Games. Walking through its massive halls, we got a sense of how the city prepared for one of the biggest sporting events in history. From there, we set out to visit the Olympic Soccer Stadium, but getting inside proved to be more challenging than expected. Instead, we made our way to the Olympic Museum, where we explored the rich history of the Games and reflected on the legacy of past athletes.

Next, we stumbled upon one of the most unexpected highlights of the trip—an adventure through the Lidl shopping center. What seemed like a quick stop turned into a maze of winding floors, unfamiliar layouts, and an experience that left us both amused and slightly lost.

As the day turned into evening, we had one of the most memorable meals of the trip. Sitting down to a feast of red mullet and a traditional meat platter, we soaked in the lively atmosphere of Athens’ nightlife. Just when we thought dinner couldn’t get any better, the restaurant erupted into a spontaneous Greek dance, with live music bringing everyone to their feet. The energy was contagious, and it became one of the most fun and authentic experiences of our time in Greece.

The next day, Ryce, Cooper, and I set out on another adventure—returning to Moni Island for one last climb to the top and another round of cliff jumping into the crystal-clear waters. This time, the journey back to Plaka was far from ideal. Taking the train from 11:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. turned into a less-than-pleasant experience, but it only added to the list of unforgettable moments on this trip.

On our final day in Greece, we visited one of the most historic landmarks in Athens—the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. Walking through this legendary venue, we could feel the weight of history surrounding us. Before setting out for our next adventure, we took a much-needed nap to recharge before the next leg of our travels.

Our final dinner in Greece was bittersweet. Saying goodbye to our group, we reflected on everything we had experienced in this incredible country. But little did we know, the most life-changing experience was still ahead of us. Our next destination: Egypt.
