How do nurses in B.C. experience being involved with MAiD? What are some of the current challenges people living with dementia face in accessing MAiD and communicating their wishes? With suffering part of the requirement to access MAiD, what does suffering look like in this context? Barbara Pesut, Principal Research Chair Palliative and End-of-Life Care at UBC Okanagan and Laurel Plewes, Director of Vancouver Coastal Health’s Assisted Dying Program, will share their perspectives from inside the B.C. health-care system, before opening the floor to a Q&A with participants.
