How To Screen Print Using Cricut Vinyl: Making your own t-shirts for a toddler

It's been a while and I have been taking a break or just don't have any projects planned at the moment. I have been having fun with my little boy and enjoying life.

As a parent to a growing rough and tumble boy, keeping him in nice, fitting clothes can get expensive. Especially when you don't want a t-shirt that has puppies or dinosaurs on them. Getting fun graphic t-shirts can get expensive. We do have some baby stores here that sells clothes at a discount price (Once Upon a Child), but the chances of finding what you're looking for is slim. I wanted my son to have a Goonies shirt. A movie I loved from my childhood that I would eventually like to show him when he is a bit older. I found a Goonies shirt on Amazon for a toddler that was over $20. I was not going to spend that money on a shirt that he will out grow in a month or two (my son is a tall fella) So I had the great idea of making my own shirts for him!

I went to Once Upon a Child and was able to find a basic t-shirt with no graphics on it for about $2.50. I had everything at home to make him a t-shirt. The only thing I needed was the graphic. So I went on Etsy and found exactly what I was looking for. So in all, the Goonies shirt I made cost me less than $5. BARGIN! And now that I have the file saved to my computer, I can just make him a new shirt every time he outgrows the first. I call that a win.

So with that said, If you are interested in making your own shirts and have a Cricut, I will show you how to make a toddler t-shirt in this video. I do not go through the process of downloading the file to my Cricut, but if this is something you need to learn, there are plenty of video's out there. My video shows you the process of using the vinyl and a screen printing kit to make the shirts. The first part of the video will show you how to use one (1) color, the second part will show you three (3) disclaimer: I have never did a shirt with 3 colors before, so we are learning together in this video.
