Radebe rejects 'fiction' surrounding Luthuli's death

Convenor of the ANC's Provincial Task Team in KwaZulu-Natal - Jeff Radebe is expected to continue with his testimony at the Pietermaritzburg High Court. Radebe is testifying before the re-opened inquest into the death of former ANC President Chief Albert Luthuli. The inquest is looking into the circumstances surrounding Luthuli's death who was a Nobel Peace Prize laureate Luthuli died in July 1967, reportedly after he was struck by a goods train. The initial inquest ruled that his death was an accident. However, Radebe has told the court that the party has never believed that Luthuli died in a train accident. Radebe has testified that he believes the apartheid government killed Luthuli because of his ability to influence different groups of society.
