The African bush is home to the most fascinating insects. In this video, I show a few insects often seen in summer.
Our home is on Mahlathini Private Game Reserve just outside Phalaborwa, bordering the
Kruger National Park, where you can safari from your veranda!
The corn cricket is cannibalistic and is known for eating other corn crickets! It is quite unpleasant to watch, but then, such is nature!
Mopane worms are a delicatessen with the locals. When a season of abundance arrives, mopane worms are on top of the food list. High in protein, these worms are cleaned and dried before being eaten.
Come and explore the smaller treasures of the African bush with me - all animals, big or small, are precious and captivating.
