Our last night camping in the UK didn’t go how we planned.
After a calm morning exploring an old ruined castle in the Cairngorms, we returned to find our tent completely flooded. What started as frustration quickly turned into laughter — and, eventually, gratitude.
That night, in an emergency hotel with a warm shower, clean sheets, and a dry bed, we realised how lucky we were to have even the simple things: warmth, shelter, comfort. The kind of things we usually take for granted.
Earlier that day, we’d also experienced one of those incredible coincidences — meeting, by pure chance, the celebrant who married us months earlier, standing in the forest about to officiate another wedding. It felt like the universe’s quiet reminder: you’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
Sometimes plans fall apart, so better ones can form.
