How to Escape Time Without Leaving the World — Al Farabi | Ep. 12

According to Al-Farabi, every human being lives inside two invisible prisons:

Without wisdom, we are merely in time and space — carried by events, imprisoned by history, overwhelmed by circumstances.
With wisdom, something radical happens:

Nature (tabi‘at) confines the body in space.
History (tārīkh) confines the soul in time.

Only hikmat allows the intellect to rise above temporal flow.

🌌 Existence Is Not Inside Time:
Time and space are not containers of reality;
they are affairs of existence (shu’ūn al-wujūd).
The First Cause is not “before” creation — it is always present (lā-zamānī).

The fall of a leaf and the fall of an empire follow the same divine command (‘ināyah).
Wisdom allows us to see history from above, not just endure it from within.

🚫 False Asceticism Exposed:
Farabi rejects self-torture and excess austerity.

True discipline (riyāḍat) is measure, not extremism — and its limits are defined by divine law.

All injustice — personal and political — comes from losing proportion.
The soul is infinite-seeking; finite things can never satisfy it.

Our endless dissatisfaction is not a flaw — it is proof that the soul is oriented toward the Unlimited (Ghayr Mutanāhī).

To see an object not as independent — but as a manifestation of divine existence.

🌍 World Peace Begins Inside:
No treaty can end war if souls remain unpurified.
Global justice is impossible without inner wisdom.

“You don’t escape time by moving faster —
you escape time by seeing deeper.”
