This is a playthrough using Original Costume Chun-Li in the Saturn version of Street Fighter Alpha 2. Read on for more information...
Original Costume Chun-Li is a hidden character in the game. She is a hidden playable character.
===== HOW TO SELECT SF2 COSTUME CHUN-LI =====
On the character select screen, do the following:
Highlight Chun-Li and press and hold [START] for 5 seconds, then press any attack button to select Original Costume Chun-Li. (remember to keep [START] held down when you select her)
===== ABOUT SF2 COSTUME CHUN-LI =====
This is basically an alternative version of Chun-Li with her SF2 outfit and a charge motion for her Fireball instead of a half-circle motion. Aside from these two factors, I don't think there are any other differences.
===== ADDITIONAL INFORMATION =====
---- She is programmed into the game as a separate character with her own slot obviously.
---- The only difference she has to regular Chun-Li (besides the costume) is that her Fireball is done via a charge motion.
---- She appears as a CPU opponent in one of the alternative routes in Survival Mode.
---- Her personal boss in the game is M.Bison.
---- Whilst at first it appears that she has the exact same ending as regular Chun-Li, it actually isn't the same one. In her ending, you'll find that she's wearing her SF2 outfit when she is speaking to M.Bison. The dialogue however, is the same.
---- Even though she is technically a separate/'different' character in the game's data, she has regular Chun-Li's routes, interaction dialogues, etc.
---- Sakura's stage BGM is different (better in my view) than the one she has in the PS1 version of the game.
---- The game is known as Street Fighter Zero 2 in Japan.
===== ABOUT SATURN SFA2 =====
In the days of the PS1 and Saturn era, this was considered to be the best port of the game and the closest to the Arcade version. Excluding the loading times (which are faster than the PS1 version), the Saturn port still suffers from animations frames being cut out for certain characters like Zangief and Gen, and specific sound effects being muffled. These elements are rectified when you play mirror matches, because that way the VRAM and Audio RAM are freed up by having to store only one character's data, meaning that the free memory can be used for the full animation frames and clearer sound effects.
Additionally, the Saturn version of the game is rather unique, as it is kind of an "in-between" of the arcade USA SFA2 and Japanese SFZ2A. This means that it has the secret characters from arcade USA SFA2, and some play modes from Japanese SFZ2A (which would normally be common console play modes like Survival Mode). This port also allows players to select from all 6 colour palettes for a character regardless of which mode (Manual or Auto) he/she is in - each colour is assigned to each of the 6 attack buttons.
