Here's what Chappell Roan's Hot To Go! might have sounded like if it had been a synth-pop track released in the mid-1980s. *No AI used for the backing track!*

The original version already has a bit of an 80s vibe to it, but arguably one from the early 80s (the era of monophonic and early polyphonic synths, and a more synthwave-type aesthetic). By 1984/85, as synthesizers and studio equipment technologies improved and evolved, pop songs began to sound more percussive and "big" - lots of snappy synth sounds, big gated drums, big guitars, big pads, big hair. So I've tried to replicate that sound with this cover version.
For the musicians amongst you, the vast majority sounds in this remix are taken from my Yamaha DX7 and Roland JX3P synths (both released in 1983), with a few drum and guitar samples thrown in for luck.
I have several 80s versions of modern songs on my channel, so please do check them out!
