This was the luxury business sports coupe of the 70,s and the SS 454 package was the most sporting option. The SS package also included front and rear stabilizer bars and heavy-duty front and rear suspension along with a LS5 Turbo-Jet 454 V-8 sporting a four-barrel carburetor which was rated at 360 hp (269 kW) at 4800 rpm and 500 foot pounds of torque at 3500 rpm.
