Set to debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival, the SY80 represents a new benchmark for eco-conscious maritime luxury. Measuring an impressive 24 meters, or 80 feet, the SY80 doesn’t just aim to sail — it aims to do so in silence, without emissions, and without compromising on comfort, style, or performance.

Founded by visionaries passionate about alternative energy, Silent Yachts has been building history since 2016 as the first company to produce ocean-going, solar-powered yachts. After undergoing an ownership change last year, the company is now better funded and more focused than ever on redefining green yachting.

The SY80 is a solar-electric catamaran that seamlessly blends sustainable propulsion with the luxurious comforts expected from a modern superyacht. The catamaran's exterior, designed by Marco Casali, showcases a sporty yet timeless aesthetic with long hull glazing, wide windows, and a modern silhouette. The solar panels—quietly integrated into the design—generate up to 22.4 kWp, feeding a massive 522 kWh battery bank, upgradeable to 696 kWh, allowing for extended voyages with nearly zero emissions.

Three configurations of the SY80 will be available: 2-Deck, 3-Deck Open, and 3-Deck Closed. Each variant caters to different lifestyles, offering a fully customizable experience. Whether you're looking for expansive outdoor spaces or private indoor lounges, Silent Yachts allows owners to tailor their floating oasis to exact preferences.

The 3-Deck Open version is a standout for outdoor enthusiasts. It features an enormous 84-square-meter ocean sky lounge, perfect for open-air relaxation, sunbathing, or stargazing. There’s even ample space beneath the cockpit to store water toys, enhancing functionality without sacrificing design.

Step inside, and you’re welcomed into a world of luxury. The SY80 offers accommodations for up to 12 guests across six staterooms. Each version comes with a lavish master suite, which can be placed either on the main deck or the lower level, depending on the desired interior layout. Higher ceilings, walk-around decks, and a blend of enclosed and alfresco spaces ensure an immersive ocean experience.

Tech-wise, the SY80 maintains a smart but eco-driven philosophy. Its propulsion is powered entirely by solar energy, offering a cruising speed of 7–8 knots and a top speed of 12 knots — all without a drop of fuel. Range figures haven’t been officially announced, but previous models have managed up to 100 miles per day solely on solar energy.

Inside, the finishing is nothing short of spectacular. Expect elegant materials, expansive lounges, and top-tier functionality. The design team emphasizes modularity, meaning every SY80 can become a one-of-a-kind expression of its owner’s lifestyle.
