𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞?
Creatine is a metabolic substance that helps in the conversion of food into energy and breaks down into a waste substance called 'creatinine' which is filtered in the blood by the kidneys and removed from the body through urine. Normally the kidney filters it out, removes it from the blood and then this waste product comes out with urine, but when its quantity increases then this process cannot run normally and this is a bad sign for the kidney.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞?
Creatinine is a waste product found in everyone's blood and urine. Tests for creatinine show how well our kidneys are working. Under normal circumstances, our kidneys are able to filter these substances on their own and remove them from the body.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐞?
According to the size of women, men and children, their muscle mass is different. For this reason, the creatinine level is also different in these three. It is scientifically believed that men have more muscle mass than women and children, due to which their creatinine level is also higher.

▪ Men: 0.7 to 1.3 mg/dL (61.9 to 114.9 µmol/L)
▪ Female: 0.6 to 1.1 mg/dL (53 to 97.2 µmol/L)
▪ Children (up to 3 years): 0.3 to 0.7 mg/dL
▪ Children (ages 3-18): 0.5 to 1.0 mg/dL

Any person is advised to get his urine test done along with his KFT test. Any patient of kidney failure is advised to increase the function of his kidney so that the kidney continues to do its job properly.

Patient Nomesh was diagnosed with kidney contraction resulting in kidney failure in March and during that time he lost weight, leaving him weak. He came to SRIAAS in July, he was going under dialysis once a week. He stopped dialysis in October and after 3 months of treatment his creatinine level dropped to 0.4. Narrowing of the kidneys is a condition that causes reduced kidney function and ultimately, kidney failure. A patient must manage the root cause of kidney failure in order to manage their disease.
