Spicers Scenic Rim Trail Days 1 & 2 - 2021

This is the start of our 2021 Spicers Scenic Rim Trail adventure where we stayed at the amazing Spicers Hidden Vale the first night.
Day one of the SRT started with a great lunch at Homage Restaurant and met one of our amazing guides - Mark. We then had a short walk over to the Hidden Wildlife Centre where we learnt about the great conservation initiatives of the Turner Family Foundation.
We then did a koala safari and learnt about their koala research project.
After a quick refresh when we got back we had a few beverages and a quick Market Garden Tour and then settled down for a great dinner and a number of drinks........which seemed to set the tone for the next 5 days.
After hardy breaky, we met our other amazing guide, Hailey, and loaded up our gear into the bus and headed to the trail head about 45 minutes away on another Turner property.
The first day on the trail had us heading up onto the Mistake Mountain Range with a 600m ascent. One of the highlights of the day was climbing the rock ladder and then spotting an endangered brush tailed rock wallaby when getting to the top.
At the end of the day's walk we were met by Ricky at Mt Mistake Farmhouse with warm scones, bubbles and a cool hand towel.
After a well deserved clean-up, we watched the last of the sun with a few more drinks and then Ricky treated us to a great dinner.
