🧼 Step-by-Step Cleaning Instructions:
1. Disassemble the Mask
• Remove any electronic components such as the voice amplifier or HUD (Heads-Up Display).
• Disconnect the second-stage regulator if attached.
• Take off the head harness if necessary.
2. Pre-rinse
• Rinse the mask thoroughly with warm water to remove debris and dirt.
3. Wash
• Mix mild soap or Confidence Plus® cleaning solution with warm water in a sink or basin.
• Submerge the facepiece and gently scrub with a soft cloth or brush, paying close attention to:
o The inside of the mask
o Exhalation valve
o Face seal
o Lens area (avoid scratching)
4. Rinse Again
• Rinse thoroughly with clean warm water to remove all soap or disinfectant residue.
• Ensure no cleaning solution remains, especially around the valves and seals.
5. Disinfect (Optional but Recommended)
• If disinfection is needed (e.g., after exposure to bloodborne pathogens), use an MSA-approved disinfectant or follow OSHA guidelines.
• Allow appropriate contact time before rinsing again.
6. Dry
• Shake off excess water.
• Pat dry with a clean lint-free towel or allow to air dry in a clean, non-contaminated area.
• Avoid direct sunlight or high heat during drying.
7. Inspect the Mask
• Check for damage, cracks, or deformities in the facepiece, straps, valves, and lens.
• Ensure all parts are clean and functional.
8. Reassemble
• Reattach any components that were removed, including electronics and regulators.
