Toprc Corsair 3rd & 4th flights

This is the 3ird and 4th flights since mid June whenever I did the maiden & 2nd flights

I have since modified the flaps to get 40 degrees of travel. Previously it was was maxed out at 28 degrees.

During the landings on the first and second flights. The airplane wouldn’t slow down. I had over speed issues on landings causing huge bouncing. The weight of the plane plus the angle off approach would make the plane over speed. The prop is a 23x12x2 so I figured the 12 pitch also contributed to the over speeding. The 3rd & 4th flights with the flaps made a huge difference!!! So much that I wasn’t prepared for it during my first attempt to land and got the going too slow bounce… now I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum lol, I was able to apply power and go around… I have things all figured out by the 4th flight!

I flew it a 5th but my camera man was taking a break. He opted to just enjoy watching me fly it. Shame too because I had no idea and was little more adventurous. Performing a Cuban eight and some barrel rolls, last some regular 4 point rolls or more like some sloppy rolls lol. Corsair certainly not like my other warbirds. It requires a lot more rudder on them knife banked edges. However this isn’t my first big heavy Corsair. It’s just even bigger and heavier then my old topflite Corsair. This one has been more of a beast to tame on the landings. Little more wild on the take offs… flies amazing. Takes a lot of air to make its turns, this baby doesn’t turn on a dime. So don’t go getting into a turning dog flight with any zeros. Instead do the old boom and zoom tactics.
