This footage is extracted from an episode in the second series in which Turtle follows the trail of William Burke, the so-called Night Rider. When his friends and brother were sentenced to swing for their part in a plot to kill some County Cork gentry, Burke rode through the night for 90 miles to bring the eminent Daniel O'Connell back to defend them. The footage was shot in Doneraile, County Cork, and the Cork City Courthouse, and was directed by Sophie MacNeice.
Turtle has also appeared on programs such as 'Who Do You Think You Are?', 'Wogan's Ireland' and 'Nationwide'.
He is the founder of Wistorical, an innovative concept for promoting local history globally, and co-founder of the annual
History Festival of Ireland.
