A detailed breakdown of the track day bellow,

-The Golf-R put down a respectable lap time. Remaining consistent throughout the day, considering the car is stock with only a set of mild tires, it held its ground. With a good set of tires the golf would be nasty on track.

-The Mustang did well. Putting down alright times but still leaving a quicker lap time out there, looking back at the footage plus how the car was feeling during a session, some adjustments definitely need to be made and some refinement is due. I must state before hand, it’s not solely the cars fualt. I’m no pro by any means and my experience in racing is low, i believe in time my skills will improve and therefore aiding in better lap times! Moving onto the car. It felt overly loose and unpredictable coming out’ve corners, (noticeable in the footage) we think this is happening for a few reasons.

1st, the rear upper control arm is still stock and from our research is a point of concern causing similar issues to what the car is experiencing.

2nd, the tires are mild at 340tw (NT555-G2) falling off within a lap due to temperature and we think this is compounded by the cars suspension being track focused, over powering the grip limit of these tires quicker.

3rd, the sway bars are adjustable (Front/Rear) we haven’t quite found the sweet spot for these so more testing with different adjustments will be beneficial so we understand when to change it around depending on track and other conditions alike. As an extra the braking performance is lacking, braking power is low therefore lowering the ability to brake at an ideal position, coupled with minimal resistance to heat causing brake fade even with adequate cool down laps. That’s expected from oe brakes but a big brake package is definitely needed here.

The Mustang is a great car on or off the track, there’s no doubt there but we hope once these issues stated above are addressed it will be an even greater track weapon cutting those lap times down. Time will tell
