This was a really fun video to make. Initially I got asked by a youtuber ‪@Nightie‬ to make a video about the elytra. Then I had the idea and asked myself "What is the optimal elytra angle to fly furthest". I saw some guy on youtube say that that you can fly infinitely by using 40 deg and -40 deg angles. I tested them and they didn't work. These angles were not even close to the optimal angle.
I went through tens of hours of calculations, writing python scripts that run simulations and test which angles are best. In the video I pretty much explain everything I found out.
The event was awesome. Definitely will make more.
