Walk into the Heart of Monaco – from the Port to the Monte Carlo Casino
Strolling at the foot of the hill, we pass elegant buildings in shades of pink, beige, and ochre. They climb up the slope, wrapped in greenery and flowers. Above us stretches a viaduct, while below pulses the city’s life — cars, conversations, and the aroma of coffee drifting from nearby cafés.
Heading towards Port Hercule, we enter a world of luxury. Yachts larger than houses, gleaming hulls, shimmering reflections on the water. At tables shaded by umbrellas, people chat in different languages while waiters move gracefully between them. Here time flows differently — slower, more dignified.
In the background rise tall apartment buildings, hotels, and residences. Their facades reflect the light, balconies overflowing with greenery. Along the waterfront we pass supercars, jewelry boutiques, and art galleries. Every detail seems to say: “life here is beautiful.”
On the square before the casino, among palms and tropical plants, a fountain bursts forth. From it emerge two metal silhouettes — Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler, characters from the film “Gone with the Wind.” Motionless, yet full of life, their gaze seems to hold a quiet dialogue with water and time. The sculpture does not dominate the space; it completes it.
Slowly climbing towards the hill, we reach the principality’s most famous landmark — the Monte Carlo Casino. Monumental and full of history. Two domed towers, statues, a clock, and an entrance like something out of a fairytale. Here one feels the spirit of luxury, style, and cosmopolitan elegance. In front stand rows of luxury cars, while guests — though more casually dressed during the day — still add to the atmosphere of refinement. In the air drifts a note of anticipation and mystery.
We also stepped inside, but filming was only partially allowed. In the representative halls we managed to capture a few shots, yet inside the gaming rooms, at the roulette and card tables, filming and photography are strictly forbidden.
