What's really shocking to me is that there actually aren't any articles exploring the topic of legit sopranos becoming scarce or if the Elphabization of belting is intertwined with how women in musical theatre are written. If you look this up you'll find some interesting conversations on Reddit and Broadway World to read through, you'll also find threads titled things like "Is there still a place for sopranos in MT?" on other websites. I can't link to those websites because I can't vouch for the content on them, but I feel like this needs to be researched. We can't let the Coloratura Soprano's be abandoned to the past when we can bring them into the future instead!
