Tropical stray season is slowing down here in the northeast, but there are certain species that will be hanging around a little bit longer before temperatures drop. Several species of grouper are known to stray north such as Scamp, Gag and Snowy grouper can all be found north of their normal range as juveniles. These groupers hang tight to structure like pilings and large rocks. Although they won't grow large enough to make a meal out of, they are still a cool catch on light tackle!
