Experience a full ride on the new A4 Deux-Montagnes branch of Montreal’s Réseau express métropolitain (REM), which opened to revenue service on November 17 after several postponements, following open-house days on November 15 and 16. During the open house, every station on this new northwest branch between downtown and Deux-Montagnes was accessible for free rides and passport stamping.
The video starts at Central Station (Gare Centrale) and follows the fully automated REM all the way to the North Shore terminal at Deux-Montagnes, using the converted former EXO 6 Deux-Montagnes commuter rail corridor. All former EXO 6 stations are retained, with three new stations added (McGill, Édouard-Montpetit, Côte-de-Liesse) and two stations renamed (Mont-Royal to Ville-de-Mont-Royal, Roxboro-Pierrefonds to Pierrefonds-Roxboro).
Automation allows an unobstructed front-cab style view through the Mount Royal Tunnel and across bridges, showing the new double-tracked, grade-separated infrastructure and modern station design. All stations on this segment are fully accessible, with glass elevators throughout and escalators provided at locations with long stairways.
Stations featured in this video: Central Station, McGill, Édouard-Montpetit, Canora, Ville-de-Mont-Royal, Côte-de-Liesse, Montpellier, Du Ruisseau, Bois-Franc, Sunnybrooke, Pierrefonds-Roxboro, Île-Bigras, Sainte-Dorothée, Grand-Moulin, and Deux-Montagnes. Future REM branches to come include A3 Anse-à-l’Orme (planned for 2026) and A2 Airport/YUL (planned for 2027), which will also be covered in full-ride videos at their commissioning.
