Mount Mulhacén, named after Muley Hacén, is the highest peak in the country of Spain and of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It stands at 11,413 feet tall, and it takes 16 miles to hike there and back via Hoya del Portillo. From the peak you can see hundreds of miles of Andalusia and the surrounding mountains. You may be greeted by ibex along the trail!
