At the end of 2021 we paid a visit to to the Handicap Trails In The National Forest at the Big Thicket National Preserve in south east Texas. Truly a hidden surprise that is so huge it is overlooked! The Big Thicket National Preserve was established to protect and preserve the unique ecosystem of south east Texas.I was very surprised and excited to find out that they have Handicap Trails In The National Forest!
There are many miles of hiking trails, horseback trails and a few OFV trails, but one thing that is rare to find are handicap friendly trails in the Big Thicket National Preserve. There are two.
The Sun Dew trail and the Picture Plant Trail. Both of these are cement and boardwalk trails that allow the mobility challenged to get out into the woods and see some of the native carnivorous plants.
I was fortunate enough to have a beautiful sunny winter day to tour both of these Handicap Trails In The National Forest on Little Red, my mobility scooter
Come along with us as we explore some Handicap Trails In The National Forest at The Big Thicket National Preserve.
