4 Times Faster Aeroacoustic Analyses with Actran SNGR

Designing devices with smaller acoustic impact is crucial to meet regulations or to ensure superior product quality and comfort. From car side-mirrors to aircraft high-lift devices, from engine cooling fans to action cameras, understanding and controlling the noise generated from turbulent flows is an important design challenge that engineering departments are trying to address.

The Actran software suite offers multiple methods to efficiently analyze, identify and control aeroacoustic noise sources generated by unsteady or steady fluid flow. Specifically, the new Actran SNGR module is an ideal tool for faster evaluation of the effects of design changes on the noise sources by performing acoustic simulations on flow results from steady CFD analysis. It also identifies noise sources in large domains where unsteady CFD computations are not feasible such as around a complete car.
