On September 29th 1959, Paul Anka's "Put Your Head On My Shoulder"* peaked at #2 {for 3 weeks} on Billboard's Top 100 chart, for the three weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for those three weeks was "Mack The Knife" by Bobby Darin...
By the time he wrote "Put Your Head On My Shoulder," he had been a star for two years, having hit #1 with "Diana" in 1957.
"Put your head on my shoulder - that was your objective that weekend. To get her to get the head on the shoulder, maybe get a kiss and get your hand in her blouse. All that I understood."
In the 2004 videogame Hitman: Contracts, the song is playing on a gramophone in one of the rooms during the second mission of the game.
