Windstorm In A Wonderland of Rocks - Chiricahua National Monument

I visit the Chiricahua National Monument in southeast Arizona. I visit the Faraway Ranch and then hike the Echo Canyon Loop trail.

Chiricahua National Monument is referred to as a "Wonderland of Rocks" and you can quickly see why. The amazing rock formations began 27 million years ago with a huge volcanic eruption just to the south. After hardening, the effects of erosion took over and resulted in the amazing pinnacles and strange formations seen today.
