Gunmen attack tourists in Indian-administrated Kashmir in deadliest attack on civilians in years

At least 28 people have been reported killed after gunmen opened fire on tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir.
Many others were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds following the attack in the resort town of Pahalgam in southern Kashmir.
The tourists had been visiting the nearby Baisaran Valley, which is only accessible by foot or horseback.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently visiting Saudi Arabia, has directed the Interior Ministry to take all necessary measures in response.
Police are blaming separatist fighters for what is being described as the largest attack targeting civilians in the area in recent years.
