We will be replacing all the multi-link rear suspension and remove differential and axles in this video. I don't have the tool to remove and install the subframe bushings, so I tried to figure out how or if it was possible to remove them without the tool. My struggle, your gain.
I found that you could pop the forward subframe bushings out with an air hammer, however I tried to pop out the rear ones for like 45 minutes with my air hammer with no luck at all. The route we had to go was cut the top of the bushing off and cut the center out then crush the bushing into itself and then out with the air hammer. I didn't record because the whole process of all that took way to long until we figured out what actually worked.
The last clip I threw in was of the tool we made up with various cups and stuff around the shop to press the rearward subframe bushings in. Word of advice, definitely try to find the tool to remove and install these bushings in the rear or you will hate your life. our tool worked pretty well once we fine-tuned it.
I mention the position of my rear toe-links so I can go back to watch the video and put them back in the same position, so my alignment won't be so off until I get to the alignment rack.
If you have any questions on a part of the process that I have left out or need a better view or something let me know in the comments and I can always throw one of my vehicles on the lift and send you a clip.
I'm doing this for my first time so someone might do it differently, if you got tips feel free to drop them in the comments, there's more than 1 way to skin a cat and I'm always up for learning different ways and finding out what best suits me.
