The Neapolitan 6th chord is a chord that makes a cadence in a minor key stronger and full of colour. It was used from the 15th century up until now. It really stood the test of time in a glorious way. Even today the Neapolitan 6th chord is used in metal songs, film music and sometimes, though rarely, in Pop and Rock.
