Broken hearted drifter...
Out in the distance,
I can see you are still running...
Under that crying sky,
Was there a hungry shadow...
Running close behind,
Was it love or was it time ;

Storm clouds cover your horizons,
At home in the misty and pale silent night,
A whisper in the breeze...
It says something is just not right,
You can feel it slowly moving over you...
It feels like dying ;

When love's gone down...
You just don't want to see it,
It is not a pretty sight...
Someone somewhere lies in pieces,
All those visions of love...
It was just an evil lie,
Now I can see the stardust falling from your crying eyes ;

All around you the shadows move in rhythm...
To this music that will seduce you in,
The sounds it makes…
Are like promises to weaken your will,
Delivers everything...
You ever needed to feel ;

Like a willing sacrifice...
Your heart plays in the ritual,
Victim of love...
You play your part so well,
To freely trade your heart and soul for a roll of the dice,
It was all just part of the deal ;

Slowly and defeated...
You kneel down in silence,
All your life now seems shaded black and doom,
All alone again...
Just the company of an empty room,

Some demon...
Some devil...
Is love,
In that black widow's shadow you stand,
A beast born of a lonely man or woman,
It can be the most dangerous monster haunting this land ;

Now this is what it means to be broken hearted,
It's something only the lovelost will ever understand ;

When love's gone down...
And you just don't want to see it,
It is never a pretty sight,
What is left of your heart lies in pieces,
And like seeing through the visions of its evil lies,
I can still see the stardust falling from your crying eyes,
