One of the best tips I can share with your for learning how to paint a realistic marble is to go get a bag of marbles and then look at them a lot. Light them from above then light them from the side. Try looking at a marble under natural light. Study the shapes. This video provides tips but nothing replaces sitting down with the real thing.
