ईरान में बड़ी तादाद में भारतीय छात्र और व्यापारी रहते हैं. साथ ही भारत से मुस्लिम तीर्थयात्री ईरान भी जाते हैं. इस बीच ईरान में हिंसक प्रदर्शन और अमेरिका द्वारा हमले की धमकी की वजह से छात्रों के परिवार वाले चिंतित थे. भारतीय दूतावास ने भी एडवाइजरी जारी करके ईरान छोड़ देने की अपील की थी. अब भारतीय नागरिक ईरान से वापिस लौटने लगे हैं. दिल्ली एयरपोर्ट पर ईरान से लौट रहे भारतीय छात्रों और अन्य नागरिकों के स्वागत के लिए उनके परिजन उत्साह और राहत के साथ इंतजार करते नजर आए.

Amidst the violent protests in Iran and threats of attack from the US, the families of these students and other Indian citizens were worried. The Indian embassy had also issued an advisory urging them to leave Iran. Now, Indian citizens have started returning from Iran. At Delhi airport, the families of the returning Indian students and other citizens were seen waiting with enthusiasm and relief to welcome them back.
