DOOM Eternal - The Only Thing They Fear Is You rearranged

If you've seen my first 2 video's, then you already know what I'm about to say. I took all of the in-game files of The Only Thing They Fear Is You (not a catchy title) and tried to make a arrangement out of them. This one had yet less files then Mars Core. I honestly think that's the reason why Mick Gordon himself did a mix on that track. PS: If you want to listen to the best possible version of the song, do check out Mick's mix, as it's far superior (sound wise) to my DIY version :P

I found it kinda challenging to start the song. The other two tracks I've done had a clear beginning, mid pieces and end, coming from in-game cues and meta info (other mixes I heard). This one wasn't as clear cut, so I started at the ending. I knew I wanted the lovely synthy bits in the middle and a long buildup to the end, so I just reversed my process. The long synth (or is it a lawn mower?) sections are also a bit harder to time, as there is no clear rythm to cling to. After a while, it's just synth. Still, trial and error got me through that.

This is a arrangement I wanted to do for quite a while now. The long synth sections are some of my favourite parts in music and I wanted to really focus on them. Most arrangements and mixes focus on the heavier 'combat' parts and I understand why. Those parts are headbanging heaven, but for some reason the synths give me goosebumps.
I want to once again thank Mick Gordon for his gift to humanity.


note: I didn't mix the music, this is how the files are in-game. There is still a bit of compression due to the music extractor and Youtube.
