Junior 6’1 207 lbs

Shane Buechele started as a true Freshman at Texas & looked as if he was going to lead the Longhorns back to the top, but then he got hurt & Sam Ehlinger took over. Like Ohio State’s Justin Fields & Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts, Buechele transferred to SMU & had a great first season.

Instead of being in Ehlinger’s shadow, Buechele is finally able to showcase his ability & is leading SMU to it’s best season in years. The Mustangs haven’t been ranked this high since the reinstatement of it’s program. Statistically, Buechele could put up big numbers next season similarly to projected 1st overall pick Trevor Lawrence.
