MetalGraph is a node-based macOS app for designing Metal shaders and seeing the result in real time.
I built it while working on Metal and SwiftUI, after realizing that even with SwiftUI previews, the feedback loop when writing shaders is still too slow and disruptive. You’re constantly rebuilding, tweaking values, and context-switching instead of exploring.
In this video, I give a quick overview of MetalGraph and walk through three very simple shader examples to show how the app works, how values flow through a shader, and how you can iterate visually.
This is not meant to replace writing Metal shaders, but to make experimentation, learning, and exploration faster and more fluid.
