Our modern review of Milos Forman's 1979 musical "Hair", a catalogue of the Vietnam Era following a hippie tribe and their new inductee: a mid-Western farm boy who's being sent off to war. Based on the smash hit Broadway musical of the 60s, it's as famous for its political and social defiance as it is for its music. It's the gay Baby Boomer versus the straight Millennial as we review, rate, dissect, and celebrate movies ranging from iconic classics to cult hits to mostly-forgotten gems of the black and white era. This is Old Movies for Young People.
"Hair" (1979) was directed by Milos Forman and written by Michael Weller based on the Broadway musical by Gerome Ragni and James Rado. It stars John Savage, Treat Williams, Beverly D'Angelo, Annie Golden, Dorsey Wright, Don Dacus, and Cheryl Barnes.
