This episode introduces a justice story we have been following since July 2025—a case involving 16 young men and 1 young woman, part of a wider group of 75 youths charged with terrorism-related offences across Kenya.
Here, we focus on Case Study 17 from Yatta, a lens into how economic vulnerability, profiling, and institutional processes shape the fate of young people caught in high-stakes investigations.
We begin in court and follow the journey back to the community, asking the central question:
