Jacqueline Jones' talk is one of connecting with self. Armed with the results of her ancestry from DNA testing, Jacqueline took a leap of faith and went to Ghana, a country that comprised 30% of her make up, and where she found 100% of herself! In her presentation, Jacqueline discusses the profound impact the trip had on her, her "AHA" moment, and shares the lessons she learnt after her trip, masterfully weaving how atrocities of the past have led to where she is in the present, and how she will apply her learnings from the trip going forward. Indeed the "Year of the Return" as the trip was dubbed, was taken by a number of African Americans, in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of the first slave shipment from Ghana, the impact of which cannot be denied. As the Head of Strategic Partnerships for Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at LinkedIn - Jacqueline Jones creates and executes the team’s partnership strategy to expand economic opportunity in untapped customer segments. This Harvard Business School alumnus and former Fulbright scholar has utilized her business development and strategizing skills in several industries, such as Higher Education, Media/Entertainment, Technology, Advertising, Publishing and Consulting in various roles at Fortune 500 companies including Clear Channel Communications, Cable and & Wireless, Accenture, Prudential and IBM. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
