Getting started in the Sea of Thieves

This guide is going to look at giving you a better understanding of how to play sea of thieves in 2022.

We will be looking at all the core mechanics of the game including; how to sell loot, sail the different types of ships, the world and random events and how to fight PVE and PVP in the sea of thieves.

The goal | (00:00)

This section covers the overarching goal and what is it people are working towards when they play the game. We talk about money, cosmetics and titles.

Factions | (1:08)

For this portion of the video we go over the different factions in the sea of thieves and how they all play a slightly different role in the missions and what loot can be sold to the various factions and locations throughout the world. We also discuss emissaries and the factions that hunt them.

Sailing | (6:27)

We look at the different ship types in the game; the sloop, the brigantine and the galleon. We discuss how to get the most out of sailing and which ships are fastest in which situations.

Supplies | (7:43)

There are many different supplies in the game that can be used to defend, repair and attack players. Each has a unique role to play and this section talks about how to find and correctly supply your ship to ensure you can survive and become a pirate legend in the sea of thieves.

Ship combat | (9:53)

In this section we discuss how to get the most out of naval combat, specifically looking at cannons, cannon balls and repairs that are required to keep your ship from sinking.

Player combat | (13:37)

We look at the different weapons that you can use in close quarter combat and how those will damage and ultimately kill enemy NPC’s and other players in the game.

Events | (14:48)

This part looks at all the random, world and player triggered events in the game that will see you fighting enemy skeletons, phantoms, megalodons, krakens and other players in the game. We look at how to spot them and discuss the loot you can get.
