VIETNAMESE WORD ORDER : NOUN

Vietnamese is an analytical language, which means that it largely uses "helper words" as opposed to inflection to indicate relationships between words. Although subject-verb-object (SVO) is the preferred word order, sentences can be rearranged to emphasize a particular topic. Other than having a noun classifier system, being pro-drop (and pro-copula-drop), wh-in-situ, and allowing verb serialization, Vietnamese is primarily head-initial.
