The Mobile Response Team (MRT) is staffed with Recovery Alberta clinicians who triage mental health calls in AHS’ Calgary Zone. Members of the Calgary Police Service reach out to MRT for resources and strategies when attending calls for service for individuals actively experiencing mental health crisis. This partnership helps officer and mental health clinicians determine, in real time, if it is better for an individual experiencing crisis to be brought to hospital for treatment, of if there are alternate community resources available that are better suited for the individual’s needs in that moment.
