New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters has stepped up the Ardern government's attack against Australia deporting Kiwi criminals, poking fun at Peter Dutton's unsuccessful leadership tilt.
"If you respect another country, you should have regards to that of the country's views when making laws," Mr Peters said.
Mr Peters said Mr Dutton used the deportation of criminals legislation as a "campaign ploy" to "knock on the door of the party caucus" but noted that he had failed.
"I was involved in politics long before your Mr Morrison got involved in the game," he said.
